Here are a few FAQ's about Evangel Temple that might help you on your first visit here.

Where are you located?

We're located about ˝ mile east of Battlefield Mall, or about 2 miles west of Highway 65 at 2020 E. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65804. Click here for contact information and a google map.

Where is the best place to park?

We have parking in many places throughout out campus, including specially marked "Visitor" parking spaces just off the main circle drive, near the south doors, and also in the parking lot just west of the main building.

Younger people or people with children may want to park in the west parking lot, and older folks in the smaller lot just south of the building where it is an easy walk to the sanctuary.

Parking is also available on the street and on the lawn near the Corner House, and in the gravel lot around the Barn.

What Sunday morning service is right for me?

We have three Sunday morning services to choose from:

  • 9:00 AM, Main Sanctuary—this service is more contemporary than our traditional service with a band and worship team. Pastor Charlie preaches in this service.
  • 10:30 AM, Main Sanctuary—this service has a traditional feel with choir and orchestra, and congregational singing that includes hymns. Pastor Charlie preaches in this service.
  • 10:30 AM, The Barn (just south of the main building, on Luster—a real barn converted into a meeting space. You can't miss the large silos!)—this service is very contemporary, appealing to many young adults and young professionals. Pastor Jordan preaches in this service. What time should I arrive?

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes early for time to park and make your way to the service. If you have children, you may want to arrive 15-20 minutes early to meet their teachers and check them into their classes.

What should I wear?

You will see everything at ET from jeans and t-shirts to suits and ties! Most people wear something close to 'business casual'—slacks and collared shirts or blouses, or dressy jeans and tops.

Where do I take my kids?

We love kids at Evangel Temple, so we've provided great opportunities for them to grow in age-appropriate environments while parents relax knowing their children are well cared-for! Of course, children are always welcome in the main services if they feel more comfortable staying with you.

The children's check-in area and the nursery are both located off of the west hallway. Just stop by the Welcome Center, which is easily visible from the west outside doors, and one of our greeters will take you right where you need to be.

During the 9 AM Sunday service, children enjoy age-level Sunday school classes. During the 10:30 service, grade-school children have their own service in "Children's Church" which is located on the second floor of our building, while younger children remain downstairs.

Our nursery welcomes children from birth through 36 months. The check-in counter is just off the main sanctuary in the west hallway. Again, our greeters will be glad to take you where you need to go!

What's happening for youth on Sunday mornings?

Our youth like to worship together! You'll see them sitting as a group toward the front in our 9 AM service. During the 10:30 hour, they meet for Sunday school in the Brick House, dividing up into smaller, age-appropriate groups.

Is there Sunday school for adults?

Yes! Evangel Temple has many fantastic classes, each with a unique 'personality.' Try as many as you like! Classes for adults run during both service times. Click here to read a list of classes and locations.

What is "The Barn"?

The Barn is the 'original' ET! The Barn is a milking barn converted into a sanctuary years ago as ET's first building. Today it is home to our 20Twenty young adult ministries and used by our ever-growing boys' ministry, Royal Rangers. The Barn is located just south of our main building on Luster. Look for the two large silos!

What if I visit on a Wednesday night?

Wednesday night feels, in many ways, like 'family night! Come around 5:15 PM and head upstairs to enjoy what we call a "Fellowship Meal"—a full dinner at an affordable price. Most events and activities begin at 6:30, such as:

  • Choir and Orchestra (behind the sanctuary)
  • Girls' Ministries (children's area, first floor)
  • Boy's Ministries (The Barn)
  • 'Connect' Youth Ministries (main sanctuary)
  • 'Mid-Week Live' for 20Twenty young adults (Corner House)
  • Adult Bible Study (second floor, rooms 203-4)
  • Other Bible studies or groups

If you arrive at 6:30, check in at the Welcome Center (easily visible from the West doors) and a greeter will take you wherever you need to go.

Wednesday nights tend to be more casual that Sunday mornings, so you'll feel comfortable in jeans or business casual clothing.
