Juli Nelson

Associate Pastor of Education Development

Juli joined the staff in a part-time capacity in March, 2004. As Associate Pastor of Educational Development, she oversees the pre-school through fifth-grade Sunday School program. She is involved with management (oversight of staffing, ongoing evaluation, publicity, spiritual emphasis) and development (establishing philosophy/goals for the C.E. program and planning innovations as needed). Her passion for this ministry is two-fold: 1) to provide support to teachers who are doing incredibly important work and 2) to develop a comprehensive philosophy and goal-based C.E. program which will equip students with a sterling Christian education.

Juli holds a B.A. in Applied Music and a B.S. in Music Therapy from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Theological Studies degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, and an M.Div. from Phillips Theological Seminary.

An ordained minister, Juli has served in a variety of ministry capacities throughout her adult life. She has been a church organist, a Minister of Christian education, an adjunct instructor in both Music and Biblical Studies at Evangel University, a pastor, and a retreat speaker.

Juli and her husband, Nathan, have been members of Evangel Temple for sixteen years and have two adult children, Tyler and Courtney.
