MISSION STATEMENT
We the ET Single Adult Ministry group strive to build the
fellowship of single adults into the church. We endeavor to
promote the practice of healthy relationships, accountable
friendships, and growing lives into the church body and the
company of each other. It is our purpose to live a lifestyle
reflective of Christ as we follow His example in servanthood,
community, and commitment while coming together in the unity
of this ministry.
BREAKFAST & BIBLE STUDY (MONTHLY)
A monthly breakfast and Bible study occurs on a Saturday
morning at 9 am at Churchill's Cafe on Republic Road. This
event is usually held on the first Saturday of the month.
If the first Saturday of the month falls on a holiday weekend,
the event is on the second Saturday of the month. The single
adults meet in the Back Room at Churchhill's. Grab a bagel
or breakfast sandwich and espresso and bring your Bible.
We enjoy fellowship with one another. Guest speakers share
on an assigned Bible passage or topic.
CHRISTIAN COFFEEHOUSES (Occasional)
A coffeehouse is hosted by our single adults on an occasional
weekend evening at Evangel Temple’s “White House”
from 7 to 9 pm. Admission is free. Desserts and coffee are
available on a donation basis. In addition, guest entertainment
is provided. Previous entertainment guests have included:
a comedy drama team from Central Bible College, a classical
string trio, and “the nutty Bible professor, Bill
Griffin.” Please consult this website for updated
information on dates and guests.
SUNDAY LUNCHES (MONTHLY)
Once a month after the 10:30 am service, singles are invited
to a local restaurant to enjoy Sunday dinner and fellowship
together. Please consult this website or the church bulletin
for the restaurant of the month.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Evangel Temple offers social activities once a month for
single adults. Past events include trips to Silver Dollar
City, movie nights, sports outings, bowling nights, attendance
at plays and other events.
COOPERATIVE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Evangel Temple is the most recent church to join “Singles
Net”, a network of single adult ministries from Springfield
area churches. Churches currently participating include
Evangel Temple, James River Assembly, New Life Assembly,
Ridgecrest Baptist, Second Baptist and Stonebridge Church.
Second Baptist hosts a weekly volleyball night on Thursday
nights from 7 to 9 pm. Other fellowship activities for this
combined group will be posted on the website when announced.
